Black Arsenal Gun Shop Burglarized in Pre-Dawn Break-In

Another early morning break in at the Black Arsenal gun shop in Stevensville is under investigation by Lincoln Township Police this morning after getting a 9-1-1 call from somebody who heard the burglary in progress just after 5am.

Lincoln Township Police Chief Gary Soper says that this morning, Tuesday, April 14th at approximately 5:11am his department was dispatched to the Black Arsenal gun shop located at 2797 Kimmel Street in the Village of Stevensville regarding a breaking and entering.

Berrien County dispatchers received a 911 call from a neighbor that heard loud noises outside. As that witness looked outside, they saw three people running from the business, westbound on Kimmel Street. Lincoln Township officers arrived at 5:14am but were unable to locate anyone at the scene.

Upon reviewing the surveillance footage, 3 people can be seen breaking a large window on the south side of the business and gaining entry. They were only in the building for about 30 seconds before leaving with 5 long guns. They then fled to a vehicle which they had parked on Kimmel Street, west of the business.

The vehicle involved appears to be a newer, light colored Chevy Camaro.

The case remains under investigation, and anyone with information is asked to contact the Lincoln Township Department at 269-429-2444 or Crime Stoppers.

It was almost two years ago to the day that a break-in and burglary at the shop resulted in a high speed chase that resulted in a crash that killed three Benton Harbor men wanted in that burglary. That incident occurred on Sunday, April 15, 2018.
