Harbor Country Rolls Out Digital Release of 2020 Visitors Guide

The good news is the new Harbor Country Chamber of Commerce visitors guidebook has been released. The bad news is we’re still under a shelter-in-place order for a while. The best news is you can peruse the new guide at your leisure by accessing it right now in its digital format by clicking the link below:

The Harbor Country Chamber says, “Your vacation is just a click away!”

“Eight Great Towns – One Great Lake.”  Harbor Country is close by, yet a world away. That is the trademarked destination for an eclectic collection of eight towns nearby: Michiana, Grand Beach, New Buffalo, Three Oaks, Union Pier, Lakeside, Harbert, and Sawyer.

The chamber contends that Harbor Country combines the best of both worlds — “Endless days at the beach and countrysides brimming with farms and orchards. Add a vibrant arts and culture community, a lively local food scene, and an explosion of world-class wineries, craft breweries and distilleries, it’s no wonder that Harbor Country has also become a year-round home for those in search of a slower pace of life amid the natural beauty of the Lake Michigan shore.”

Here’s what you will find in the new 2020 guide:

  • Get to know your local business owners…
  • Discover new things to do…
  • Find beaches, parks & preserves to roam…
  • Trip planning made easy with our Great Family Fun Guide…
  • Discover the perfect lodging for your group…
  • Map out your foodie must try’s in the Dining & Food section…
  • Michigan-made wine, beer and spirits…
  • Shopping, arts & antiques…
  • See what living here is all about in Harbor Country Life…

For a hard copy of the 2020 Harbor Country Guide, mailed to you after April 30th, contact the Chamber office: chamber@harborcountry.org 269-469-5409. A $7 fee applies.

Currently the Chamber is determining exactly how Harbor Country Guides will be distributed to businesses throughout the area. Printed copies of the guide will not be available before April 30th. The chamber promises an update on distribution will be provided as more information is available.

As a sidebar, a huge shout out to a long time friend, St. Joseph Artist Kristin Hosbein whose art graces the cover of the new guide. She shared that news on Facebook, saying, “It’s such an honor to have my painting on the cover of this year’s issue of ‘Harbor Country.’ Thank you, Tim Rogers and The Harbor Country Chamber of Commerce. SW Michigan businesses and artisans are extremely dependent upon tourism. For all of us, this year brings changes and challenges unlike any in our history. I hope you will take the time to read this magazine and support our local businesses. Thanks for all!”

The guide was designed by Fusion Design Group of New Buffalo and published locally by Walsworth Printing of St. Joseph.
