In the seven years since they burst onto the scene to take care of your vehicles, ELH Detailing of Bridgman has engaged in continuous quality improvement. Founder Ed Hojara, and now his son Eddie, have worked diligently to stay on top of the latest products, techniques and methodologies to deliver the finest outcome for their clientele.
Now, both full time employees at ELH on Red Arrow Highway have been fully trained in the installation of new ceramic coatings, including recent attendance at a three day training session on the perfect installation of such coatings.
Eddie says, “ELH Detailing has always been committed to bring our customers the best possible detailing service they can receive and we are very excited to be able to expand upon that even more.” He adds, “We have been paying close attention to the new products that come out in the car care industry and ceramic coatings are among the newest and best ways to protect your vehicle.”
For those unfamiliar with the concept, ceramic coatings appeal to a multitude of people that may be considering protecting the investment they just made in a brand new vehicle, renewing an old classic, a dream car, or even just your daily drive. Ceramic coatings consist of nano technology that creates an ultra-hard and durable layer of protection over the surface of your car to keep it looking the best it ever has for years to come.
Hojara says, “By using the products of companies like GTechniq and Dr.Beasley’s we are confident we will be able to satisfy any customer’s need and have plenty of options for everyone.” He tells us, “Coatings like Crystal Serum Lite and Nano Resin Pro will give your vehicle a complete layer of protection on every surface, inside and out, that will be super hydrophobic, water and dirt repellent, swirl resistant, and even offer self-healing properties that will last anywhere between a year and a half to the lifetime of your vehicle.”
Ceramic coatings can be applied to almost any surface on a vehicle including:
- Interior leather & fabric
- Plastic and vinyl
- Rims & tires
- Windows
- Paint & body
- Exterior trim
- Engine bay
- Floor mats
- Even matte paint
ELH’s Hojara says when applying a ceramic coating to any surface on the vehicle, it is very important it is done properly. The process includes a long and time-consuming period of deep cleaning and stripping away any contaminants that might be embedded on the paint or any surface. He says, “When prepping the paint surfaces of the vehicle, we will begin by doing a complete wash and decontamination of the vehicle with clay bricks and paint decontamination products like Megiuars iron remover. Once the vehicle is properly and thoroughly stripped of any contaminants, the paint correction stages will begin.” He says depending on the condition of the vehicle paint, that process can take anywhere from 15-to-30 hours.
A 2-step process that includes compounding and polishing will take place to perfect the paint to the necessary level to apply a coating, and some vehicle paint may require a 3-step or multi step process to achieve the right amount of correction. The final process before applying the product entails wiping down the entire car with an IPA or panel wipe to strip any left over polish residue to ensure a proper bonding on the ceramic coating.
Depending on the level of protection you decide upon, the proper amount of stacking and layers of coating will be applied to the surfaces necessary and will stay dormant until coating is fully dry and cured. Once the entire coating service is done and the customer is completely satisfied, they will automatically qualify for a coating maintenance program and will receive a free maintenance check a week after the initial coating.
Hojara says, “Whether it’s protecting your vehicle with a great new car protection package, or keeping that immaculate shine to your prized possession, ELH has options for every need.”
