If you have plans to make your way to downtown St. Joseph next Monday, September 30, 2019, take note now that the 200 block of State Street in the central business district will be used in the filming of a television commercial for the Southwestern Michigan Tourist Council.
You can still make your way to any of the stores, restaurants, service businesses and beyond that are located there, but parking in that block will be blocked off from 6am until 5pm for the shoot. State Street itself will be open to traffic in all blocks including the 200 block until noon at which time all vehicle traffic will be halted in that 200 block until 5pm.
All retailers and other businesses in that block that would ordinarily be open on a Monday will in fact be open for your business, and foot traffic will be allowed to proceed as usual throughout the entire day.
Business owners have been alerted by St. Joseph Today and the Southwestern Michigan Tourist Council that their storefronts will be featured in the television commercial, and are being asked to make their storefront as appealing as possible. The commercial will promote fall tourism in the region, so businesses are invited to, and even encouraged, to decorate with mums, pumpkins, corn husks and similar seasonal materials.
Any business with questions can query Katie White, Account Director for the team at Holt+Bosse which is also headquartered downtown by email at katie@holtbosse.com or by phone at 269-932-3623.
The 200 block, for those unfamiliar with the actual addresses downtown, is the block that runs from the I Love St. Joe store past Kilwin’s down to the Golden Brown Bakery on the east side of the block and from The Optical Shoppe @ Advanced Family Eyecare past Perennial Accents down to Statements Style Lounge on the west side of the block.
