Berrien County residents can properly recycle and dispose of household chemical waste and electronic equipment on Wednesday, August 14 at Love Creek County Park, 9292 Huckleberry Road, Berrien Center. The community recycling event runs 3 p.m. – 7 p.m. Accepted items include most household liquids and chemicals, yard and garage chemicals, and cleaners; pills, sharps and other home medical waste; batteries of all sizes; and electronics. There is a fee of $20 per television and $10 per computer monitor. All other items are accepted at no cost to residents. Donations are accepted and appreciated to help cover other collection costs. Latex Paint will NOT be accepted at this event.

An average of 12,400 lbs of household chemicals and 8,700 lbs of electronics are collected and recycled or properly disposed at this one event each year, from about 200 Berrien County residents.
