South Bend Cubs Fans Encouraged to Hit the Photo Archives for Jumbo-Tron

How many times have you been to a baseball game in either the majors or the minor leagues and seen fan photos placed strategically onto the Jumbo-Tron video board to pump up the excitement of all the other fans in the house? If you’ve ever wondered how to get into that cool gig, the South Bend Cubs are offering you just that chance.

The South Bend Cubs are rolling out an opportunity for fans to be part of the upcoming baseball season by submitting their favorite fan photos and videos taken at Four Winds Field. President Joe Hart says a select number of fan photos will be used in promotional materials like television commercials and print advertising. Others will be displayed throughout the season on the jumbo video-scoreboard.

Fans can visit MySouthBendCubs.com to upload their favorite fan photos and videos. Submitted materials should include fan gear, or have been taken at Four Winds Field. Fans can continue to upload their photos and videos to the website or via Facebook, Instagram and Twitter using the hashtag #mysouthbendcubs throughout the baseball season.

Hart readily recognizes that, “Our fans are what make this ballpark a success. They’re the best fans in the Minor League.”  He adds, “Over the years, we’ve seen how much they embrace Four Winds Field as a way to spend time with friends and family. We can see it by the amount of fan gear they wear, by how many people follow the South Bend Cubs through the season on social media, and by how many times our games are sold out. We’re proud to be part of our fans’ lives—they are a part of our lives.”

The South Bend Cubs open the 2019 season with a two-game homestand on Thursday, April 4th and Friday, April 5th vs. West Michigan. Both games include special promotions and post-game fireworks.

The South Bend Cubs are the Class A minor league affiliate of the 2016 World Series Champion Chicago Cubs. Over the past 31 seasons, the team has won five Midwest League titles, most recently in 2005, and has captured 12 division titles. In 2019, the South Bend Cubs will host the Midwest League All-Star Game.

In June 2017, Four Winds Field, home of the South Bend Cubs, was voted Best Class A ballpark in the country by Ballpark Digest. In 2015 the team was named Ballpark Digest’s Team of the Year and received the John H. Johnson President’s Award, the highest award in minor league baseball. The team is owned and operated by Swing-Batter-Swing, LLC whose principal shareholder is Andrew T. Berlin of Chicago.
