Spilman Elevated to Branch Manager for Niles North at UFCU

A veteran in the world of finance and long-time key player for United Federal Credit Union has earned a new appointment which will place him in charge of the Niles North branch of the credit union’s facility with an important role for the community-at-large as well. Charlie Spilman is the new Branch Manager at 123 Sycamore Street in Niles effective immediately.

United Federal says that in that role, Charlie will be responsible for business development within the community, membership engagement and positive public relations. He will also be tasked with maintaining the performance of the branch.

Spilman has a long-running relationship with UFCU, working in several different roles over the past seven years since 2011, most recently serving as director of product planning and card services since 2014. In that position, he was responsible for management of the UFCU deposit, card and loan product portfolios and managed the direction of the card services group. Previously he was business products manager at UFCU and a consumer lending products specialist.

Before working with United Federal, Spilman held banking positions of increasing authority at Citizens Republic Bancorp, Independent Bank, Old Kent Financial Corporation and First of America Bank Corporation (National City Bank).

Spilman holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and a Master of Business Administration degree from Western Michigan University. He has an AIB Commercial Lending Diploma from the American Bankers Association and certificates of achievement in leadership and financial essentials from the American Management Association.
