Lemon Creek Winery Preps for 21st Annual Harvest Fest

When Lemon Creek Winery rolls out the hay wagon for their 21st Annual Harvest Festival next month they can legitimately point to at least 30 outstanding reasons for you to pay a visit, by simply pointing to any one of the 30 medals they won last month at the 40th Annual Michigan Wine Competition held in East Lansing. That’s more than any other winery on the Southwest Michigan Wine Trail except for St. Julian who tied them for the top.

Those wines will be among the tasting opportunities coming your way on Saturday, September 9th from noon until 6pm when the crew at Lemon Creek celebrates their 21st Annual Harvest Festival at 533 Lemon Creek Road in Berrien Springs. Keep in mind that wine list includes Lemon Creek’s Pheasant Run Red, a semi-dry red wine that won Best of Class for all dry red wines in the state of Michigan.

It’s Lemon Creek’s annual event celebrating the fruits of the year’s labor and the beginnings of autumn with a day of live music and dancing, hayrides, a farmer’s market, and those amazing, award winning wines.

The band, High Life, performing classic rock and pop music, will be playing from noon until 3 pm. Then, the Whistle Pigs will take the stage at 3:30 until 6 pm. The Whistle pigs are a close-knit “family” of musicians who perform rock, jazz and rhythm and blues.

The Farmer’s market will feature arts and craft vendors, and the hayrides are free and available all day long.

The Outdoor Kitchen’s “Chuck Wagon” will be on site with favorites from the grill along with Big Wheels BBQ with the areas’ best pulled pork and BBQ ribs…and Zeno’s Italian Ice will also be available for purchase.

Admission fee is just $10.00 per person for those 21 and older. Under 21 will be admitted free when accompanied by family. Your admission includes free parking, a souvenir wine glass and a ticket for 3 free tastings of your choice from a wine list of over 27 award winning wines.

Personal lawn seating is encouraged, however coolers are not, and only Lemon Creek wine is allowed on site.
