South Haven CVB Goes Airborne For Fall Midwest TV Campaign

Taking a page from the playbook of the Pure Michigan folks, the South Haven/Van Buren County Convention & Visitors Bureau will hit the television airwaves of Chicago, Grand Rapids, Ann Arbor and Detroit over the next six weeks in a bid to build the community’s “shoulder season,” this fall.

The tourist bureau has announced the airing of a new television spot promoting all that is special about South Haven in the fall season. The ad, entitled “Find Your Escape This Fall in South Haven,” is a 30-second commercial destined to air in Chicago’s western and southwestern suburbs, along with those other markets between now and the end of September.

Scott Reinert is Executive Director of the South Haven/Van Buren County Convention & Visitors Bureau. He says, “Visitors to our area can enjoy the full spectrum of fall in the upcoming months.” He notes, “Though South Haven is best known for our beaches and summer-time charm, the town also has much to offer in the fall season. You can bike the Kal-Haven trail under a canopy of fall colors, kayak on our water trails, enjoy the agricultural bounty at a U-pick farm or orchard, and take in the splendor of a fall sunset with someone special.” Reinert additionally points out, “We also have three exciting new fall weekend events under our ‘Alive Anytime’ events brand: Smooth Sunset in September, Haven Harvest in October, and the Women’s Only Weekend in November.”

The South Haven/Van Buren County Convention and Visitors Bureau’s goal for the ad is to raise awareness of South Haven as a top Midwest travel destination in the fall months, increase traveler overnight stays, and positively impact the entire local economy.

The ad captures the relaxed pace and breathtaking quality of South Haven by featuring original music composed specifically for South Haven, the majesty of the Friends Good Will tall ship on-water experience, and favorite South Haven attractions, such as a walk on the pier out to the lighthouse and boutique shopping in the quaint downtown. The ad encourages viewers to take a break from their fast-paced lives and plan their perfect fall getaway.

The ad was produced in conjunction with Stevens Advertising out of Grand Rapids and Chop and Hue integrated video production boutique, also out of Grand Rapids. The ad can be viewed by clicking the link below or by accessing Facebook and the organization’s website:
