A Stevensville manufacturer with a long history in the community has been successful in garnering a grant from the Michigan Economic Development Corporation which will lead to investments of nearly $2-million and some 27 new jobs for Michigan’s Great Southwest.
Falcon Lakeside Manufacturing, located at 4999 Advance Way just off of the intersection of Red Arrow Highway and I-94, will grow its footprint in Berrien County instead of an option the company had to expand in Indiana as a result of the $135,000 performance-based grant from the MEDC revealed today. Additionally, the team at Cornerstone Alliance will provide staff time dedicated to the project.
State Senator John Proos was among the first to congratulate company officials, saying, “I am excited about this opportunity to see a great Southwest Michigan business continue to provide high-tech design, development and manufacturing services.” He adds, “With the help of this grant, Falcon Lakeside plans to expand into an additional location in Stevensville and Eau Claire in Berrien County, invest $1.8-million in capital equipment and building improvements, and create 27 jobs for area workers.”
Falcon Lakeside Manufacturing is one of the leaders in the high integrity casting market delivering high quality products and services that utilize state of the art and internally developed technologies. They have a strong reputation as a reliable leader of engineering services and manufactured components.
The company provides design, development and manufacturing services including high pressure vacuum die casting, high pressure squeeze casting, CNC machining and other finishing operations. The manufacturing facility is TS-16949 and ISO 2001 certified. The also offer full quality services including metrology, metallurgical and structural testing services.
The company was established in 2001 as a consolidation of two companies, and they now manufacture cast and machined products and serve several markets, including lightweight automotive components.
Falcon Lakeside has been awarded a $135,000 Michigan Business Development Program (MBDP) performance-based grant and, as noted, Cornerstone Alliance has offered staff time in support of the project. Thanks to the MEDC work with Cornerstone and others, Michigan was chosen over a competing site in Indiana.
Proos calls it, “Outstanding news for Berrien County and Southwest Michigan,” adding, “These grants are extremely targeted and very competitive. I applaud everyone at Falcon Lakeside for their dedication to our community and the entire state.”
