We’re just learning today about a series of break-ins of at least four business enterprises in a single morning last week as the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Department is seeking assistance from the public in tracking down the thief or thieves who struck those businesses.
Sheriff Daniel Abbott reports that the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating four breaking & entering occurrences (B&E) to businesses that took place in the northeastern part of Van Buren County.
Sgt. Ron Douglas and Deputy Randy Whitmore are investigating all four of the crimes which are believed to have been committed in the early morning hours of last Monday, February 20, 2017. They have been assisted in the investigation by the Michigan State Police, as well. It was reported that the businesses had numerous items stolen in those break-ins on that date. A 2013 Suzuki Motorcycle was also reported stolen from one of the businesses, which was later recovered following a pursuit by the Michigan State Police Niles Post, later that same day.
The businesses hit by the thieves include:
- Glendale Forest Products in the 31000 block of CR 665 in Waverly Township…
- CPS Welding Company in the 39000 block of CR 388 in Bloomingdale Township…
- Dickerson Growers & Greenhouse in the 38000 block of CR 388 in Bloomingdale Township…
- AmeriGas in the 22000 block of Highway M-40 in Pinegrove Township…
