For crafters in Michigan's Great Southwest, the "Holy Grail" doesn't get much richer than the Chapel Hill Arts & Crafts Show, now headed into its 37th consecutive year. The big event is equally important to those who benefit from the largesse of the show's organizers who have now pumped in excess of $600,000 into mission projects fostered by the Chapel Hill United Methodist Church in Sodus.
It is truly one of the premier juried Arts & Crafts shows in the entire Midwest, playing host to 280 of the finest exhibitors around with uniquely hand-crafted items. This year's show is slated for Saturday, October 1, 2016, running from 8am until 4pm at the Berrien County Youth Fairgrounds in Berrien Springs.
Shoppers will find an abundant selection of Halloween, Fall, Thanksgiving and Christmas decorations of all types and styles. It has proven year after year to be a great day to shop for upcoming birthdays and holidays and even for oneself with booth after booth of "The Best of the Best" in arts and crafts. Choices range from clothing to jewelry and purses, to rugs, ceramics, stained glass, florals, woodcrafts and furniture. Even soaps, candles, greeting cards, baskets, and fine art for your walls and more will be on display and all for sale.
It's your chance to check out more than 90 new exhibitors this year, with 50-plus booths found in each of the four commercial buildings on the fairgrounds. An additional 75 booths will be established outside. Along with arts & crafts outside, there will also be plants and produce for sale. The exhibitors travel to Michigan from several states in the union. Last year more than 7,500 people made the Chapel Hill show their destination. This 37th Annual show will be complimented by delicious fall luncheon food, your favorite snacks, caramel apples, kettle corn, homemade pies, cookies and candies. You can also check out the Chapel Hill Bake Sale booth in Building 34 where homemade baked pies, bread, cookies and candy will be available to eat on-site or to take home and enjoy later.
The Michiana Two-Cylinder Club members will again bring some of their vintage tractors. Be sure and visit their display and learn about early tractors and maybe do some trading.
Just a friendly reminder that only service dogs are allowed into the show, no family pets. Additionally, shoppers are asked to limit the use of baby strollers at the show. Both are for the safety of the patrons, and to reduce congestion in crowded aisles.
