If you work for or head-up a non-profit organization and eternally struggle with who to ask for funding, SCORE has a great workshop just for you. Deciding who to ask for funding, and application do’s & don’ts based on funders’ evaluation, will be the basis of a Funding for Non-Profits Workshop and Seminar at the Buchanan Area Senior Center located at 810 Rynearson Street in Buchanan next month.
Scheduled for the period from 5:30pm until 8pm on Thursday, November 3rd, the workshop is sponsored by SCORE Kalamazoo/SW Michigan and Michiana SCORE of South Bend, Indiana.
Presenter, Lisa Cripps-Downey, President of Berrien Community Foundation, will present both the preparer’s and the receiver’s recommendations to improve your process and strategy for more effectively requesting funds for your non-profit.
Cripps-Downey is responsible for overall Berrien Community Foundation operations, including the grant/scholarship/TEAM areas. She has more than 24 years of experience in various positions at nonprofit organizations, including Executive Director of the Frederick S. Upton Foundation; Director of Business Innovation for the United Way of Southwest Michigan; and Program Director at Berrien Community Foundation prior to her role as President. Lisa holds a BA in Communication and Political Science from the University of Michigan.
