Please provide an example of when you feel you were at your very best in taking action on the job or in your role.
Every day is a new adventure! I am lucky to have a team and Director who inspire and trust me to do what’s best for our Volunteer program. I love going into the office and finding better solutions to a reoccuring problems or creating something new. Right now I’m working on an app to assist one of our volunteer committees when assigning volunteers to a task. Prior to this app, we were writing it down on a notepad. I’m also focusing on building relationships and partnerships with many local business in the area to help support our volunteer program. I feel I am at my best when ever I am positively impacting my volunteers and bettering the program as a whole.
What’s the funniest thing that ever happened on your road to success?
The position I currently hold has had a few others before me, as is with every position. One of my predecessor is now Director of Volunteer Operations at our Headquarters location in Frisco, TX. She attends committee meetings to offer support. In this particular meeting, one of our long time volunteer and supports mentioned that she was the number one person who’s been in this role and that I am currently in second but quickly rising the ranks!
Who most inspires your personal drive for success every day?
My parents. Through out my life, they have supported me in everything I do. Always sharing insight and helping me work through any problem that I face. In all hardships they have faced, they always encouraged us to find the reason and persevre.
What is your best advice to women in Southwest Michigan looking to succeed, as you have, in business?
Don’t be afraid to take that first step! Trust yourself and be open to all the positive changes and opportunities. Be honest with yourself and those around you.
What does your selection to the ranks of the Bold Women of Business from Moody on the Market mean to you?
This is an incredible honor and one that I didn’t not expect. I am so impressed with all the other Bold Women on this list and to be listed among them is truly humbling. Thank you so much for the recognition!
