For more than 50 years now fans and collectors of M.A. Hadley Pottery have enjoyed an exclusive club of sorts that allowed them to purchase the collectible offerings of the Hadley line at a nice discount, while helping friends and neighbors in the community of Michigan's Great Southwest. Sadly, that half-century tradition will slowly fade away this spring as the perennial fundraiser is phased out for the final time.
Peggy McAllister has informed me that on Saturday, April 23rd from 9am until 2pm, St. Paul's Episcopal Church in St. Joseph will conduct its final sale on Hadley Pottery, ending the decades-old fundraiser for church and community projects that has been highly successful for years on end.
Due to the decision to cease the fundraising project this year, the popular sale event will mark the end of the ride for M.A. Hadley Pottery's association with St. Paul's Episcopal Church at the corner of Lane & Morton Avenues in St. Joseph, a couple of blocks away from the city's Ice Arena.
McAllister says that the current stock of Hadley Pottery will be sold at half price or less to clear out all remaining pieces. The church still has a large selection of items from coasters and pet dishes to canisters, a lighthouse night lamp, a cake stand with cover, and everything in between in various Hadley patterns including Country, Snowman, Skier, Christmas, Angels, Cherubs, Fisherman and more.
The church's loss is your gain as you line up gift opportunities for upcoming graduations, birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, Mother's Day, Father's Day, new babies, teacher appreciation, and general thank you gifts as well, naturally, as gifts for yourself.
The perennial sale several times a year of M.A. Hadley branded pottery has generated thousands of dollars for church projects and community events and more. The church family at St. Paul's Episcopal Church is eternally grateful to the myriad buyers who have participated in the sales events whether you stopped by just once or were a regular collector of the brand. Get this final event on your calendar, and plan to arrive early for the best selection inasmuch as this will be the final sale in the local community.
