Is Your Business Brand Trademark Protected?

There's nothing worse than developing a dynamic plan to brand your business with a great name or logo, even an awesome new sign only to find out that somebody is stealing your ideas, taking your work and co-opting it for themselves — all because you did little or nothing to protect yourself. The good news is that there are lots of ways to make sure your trademarks, logos, and even your patents are protected and Team Kinexus is ready to show you how.

If you are a business owner searching for clarity in regards to the protection of trademarks, patents and other materials regarding your brand, make plans to join Kinexus for an upcoming Trademark and Patent Workshop on Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at the Kinexus offices in downtown Benton Harbor from 8:30am to 10:00am.

Knowing how to protect trademark rights is very important. Securing a registered trademark protects your brand, and provides you with the tools to prevent someone from using similar signs, spelling, or symbols. Participants will be able to identify the marks they have and learn about the benefits of trademark registration. You will also learn how to protect intellectual property through non-disclosure agreements and patents.

This workshop is available to the public at no cost. Eric Misterovich, an attorney from Revision Legal in Kalamazoo, will conduct the workshop.

Jeff Hannan is Business Development Manager for Kinexus. He says, “We encourage businesses of all stages and sizes to attend as it has become necessary to secure intellectual property and protect the brand businesses have worked hard to attain.” He points out, “Even if you are a seasonal business owner, this workshop would be beneficial to you.”

For more information or to register, please contact Jeff Hannan at 269.927.1064, x1171, or hannanj@kinexus.org.
