The Berrien County Youth Fair has announced the full lineup of Grandstand Show events that will highlight the 2024 BCYF, August 12-17 in Berrien Springs. The overall headliner, Country star Randy Houser had been revealed earlier. Now, the acts for the entire week are being filled in.
Starting off the week on SUNDAY, August 11 at 5 pm, the BCYF brings back
the Street Legal Pickup Truck and Tractor Pull for it’s third year. After
overwhelming turnouts in 2022 and 2023 and with no gate admission fee into the
fair itself, this event is an affordable option for those looking to kick off the week a
day early!
The always popular, always loud, Truck and Tractor Pull is slated to return
on Monday, August 12 at 7 pm with a different set of classes than Sunday. This
year’s pull will again be an NTPA regional event and will feature 2WD Trucks, Super
Farm, Hot Farm and Limited Light Superstock Tractors. The event is presented by
Keystone Cooperative.
Tuesday, August 13, also known as “Kids Day” the grandstand will feature
three FREE Circus Continental shows. Circus Continental has been entertaining kids
and adults alike since the late 1960’s at the Berrien County Youth Fair. Don’t miss
out on this family and wallet friendly show!
On Wednesday, August 14 at 7 pm, country star, Randy Houser, will take the
stage presented by United Federal Credit Union.
With an inimitable voice The New York Times describes as “wholly different,
thicker and more throbbing, a caldron bubbling over,” Randy Houser racked up over
half a dozen hits and 1 billion streams. With his How Country Feels album he
topped the charts with the title track, “Runnin’ Outta Moonlight” and “Goodnight
Kiss” (also his first No. 1 as a songwriter) and earned critical acclaim for
his powerful delivery of the Top 5 smash and CMA Song of the Year-nominated “Like
A Cowboy.”
Houser added a fourth No. 1 to his catalogue with “We Went” from his 2016
album, Fired Up. Houser’s sixth studio album Note To Self is available now via
Magnolia Music Group and features 10 tracks all co-written by the Mississippi
native, with his lead single and title track “Note To Self” marking his “powerful
return” following 2019’s critically-acclaimed album Magnolia, with MusicRow
boasting the Mississippi-native “remains one of country music’s very finest
vocalists.” With multiple sold-out shows in 2023, including an at-capacity stop at
Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium, Houser wrapped 12 months of touring with Cody
Johnson. Along with putting out his latest song “Cancel” and a relentless touring
schedule, in late 2023 Houser landed on-screen roles in Martin Scorsese’s acclaimed
film “Killers of the Flower Moon” starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert De Niro and
more, as well as the inspiring “The Hill” starring Dennis Quaid which hit number one
most streamed moving on Netflix in February 2024.
Hitting the stage on Thursday, August 15 at 7 pm will be ABBA tribute band
‘Direct from Sweden–The Music of ABBA” . The band is no stranger to the incomparable sound and look of Sweden’s greatest music export with meticulous attention to costumes, make-up,
musical arrangements, movements and the singing, nothing is left to chance. Adding
a few of Abba’s live traits such as great solos and a complete live
band with back-up singers, ensures an extra dimension unheard of in most similar tribute
productions.
Dance, sing along and enjoy the hits such as Dancing Queen, Chiquitita,
Waterloo, Mamma Mia, The Winner Takes it All, Fernando, SOS, Take a Chance,
Money Money Money, Knowing Me Knowing You, Super Trouper, Gimme Gimme
Gimme, Voulez-Vous and many more.
When the Musical “Mamma Mia” hit the American Stages in 2000 it became an
instant classic and the ABBA tribute was born.
Many say that ABBA is the greatest pop group of all time, only compared to Elvis and The
Beatles. ABBA started in 1971 and ended as a group in 1982. Their music continues
to be passed on from generation to generation and are loved by the whole world.
‘Direct from Sweden The Music of ABBA’ will deliver the closest ABBA
experience you’ll ever get with some of Sweden’s most experienced and talented
singers and musicians playing 100% live.
Returning on Friday, August 16, at 8 pm, TNT Demolition
Derby will bring back the crowd favorite demolition derby. Derby fans can expect
to see classes such as Big Car Motor Swap, Big Car Lite Modifieds, MWFA Street
Stock, Bonestock Small Car FWD and Powerwheels for the kids.
Saturday, August 17 at 7 pm, fans can rest assured the BCYF has brought
back the crowd favorite, Bullmania, including bull riding and kid
